Welcome to the Mildred Avenue Middle School.  As principal of this new state-of-the-art facility, my primary goal is to ensure all members of our school community carry out our mission.   We strive to provide three essentials we feel are necessary to effectively educate today’s youth:

1. A culture that promotes respect for all staff, students, parents and property.

2.  A curriculum based on high standards and rooted in diverse methods of teaching.

3. An environment that fosters hard work, sharing, innovation and risk-taking.

With an exceptional staff and support from the Mattapan, as well as the greater Boston community, we have begun a journey full of avenues that will lead to successful educational experiences for all of our students.  We are committed to instilling the values that will help them not merely survive, but to thrive in a multi-culture society in the future.

Because Mildred Avenue is a community school, there are many on-site opportunities for our students to extend their learning beyond the school day.  Through the community center we can also strengthen our efforts to teach responsible citizenship and the value of community service.
